Learning unit contents
- General overview of the Italian language and culture.
- Learning basic communication.
- Basic vocabulary and grammar.
- Verbal tenses: regular and irregular present and past tenses (indicative).

No pre-requisite is necessary.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
In-person teaching:
- Interactive presentation of each situation, in order to improve the written and the oral comprehension.
- Oral exercices, situational learning and role plays, in order to improve the written and the oral expression.
- Grammatical explanations.
Individual homework:
- Comprehension exercises, study of conjugation, grammar and vocabulary.

Additional information:
Two exams are planned along the year:
January
- Written exam only (2h) based on grammar, reading comprehension, listening and writing. This exam will determine 40% of the final score.
June
- Written and oral exam (3h) based on grammar, reading comprehension, listening, writing and speaking. This exam will determine the other 60% of the final score.
August (second session)
- Written and oral exam (3h) based on grammar, reading comprehension, listening, writing and speaking. The exam will be based on the whole program (1st + 2nd semester) and the marks from the two previous sessions will not be taken into account.
N.B.: Decimals will be rounded by default between .0 and .5, by excess between .6 and .9.
Example: average of 12.5 > 12 // average of 12.6 > 13
