Description
This course focuses on understanding physical phenomena in the fields of optics and electricity especially in lighting.;

1) Optical physics
- reflection and total reflection ;
- diffusion :
- refraction and prisms;
- wave concept, corpuscular and wave aspect ;
- light productions ;
- behavior of materials ;
- semiconductors ;
- p and n doping ;
- light emission (LED) ;
- electrostatic forces ;
- concept of fields and potential ;
- resistors and electric circuits ;
- Kirchhoff's laws ;

At the end of this teaching unit, the student will be able to :
- use the mathematical tools necessary for the applications ;
- understand light phenomena ;
- use the notions of electricity ;

Students must have the course notes to be able to work effectively. If they do not have them, independent work cannot be done properly and they will be asked to leave the class so as not to disturb the class sessions.
