Learning unit contents
The projet organised in the first part of block 2 is linked to the study of urban sites in Brussels (or another Belgian city). This workshop consists of several parts organised by one or more teachers.
Every exercice is linked to a particular site (in Brussels) and forces the student
to learn how to observe the urban environment in which he is present;
to analyse the elements which compose the urban environment and their coherence;
to associate an evaluation to this perception;
to formulate different ways of developing the sites studied;
to justify the approaches, evaluation and options chosen.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To be able to use informations of different types (maps, descriptions, statistics) and to integrate them.
To be able to perceive and describe a site using the elements composing it.
To be able to identify the conflicts and the potential of a site.
To be able to propose ways of developing the site and to justify the approaches and chosen methods.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
At least one study trip is organised, participation is compulsory.
Each exercise is presented by a supervisor.
Field visits are organised.
Each student or group is supervised during the development of the exercise.

Project type activity (introduction followed by autonomous work).

Recommended or required readings will be communicated during the sessions.
Every exercise is graded by a competent jury (ad hoc composition) using the evaluation criteria communicated by the principal supervisor of the exercise.
