Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The objective of professional immersion is twofold. On the one hand, it must enable the student to put into practice the theoretical knowledge taught at the University. On the other hand, it invites the student to participate actively in the professional activities of his / her place of internship, by carrying out concrete tasks likely to contribute to the development of its host organization or to improve its functioning while developing its professional skills.

The evaluation is divided in three devices.
First, at the end of the immersion, the training supervisor completes an evaluation grid transmitted by the pedagogical coordinator. This evaluation consists of an overall evaluation to assess whether the student has achieved the objectives entrusted to him/her and how he/she has achieved them.
Second, the student produces a professional immersion report. This report is divided into four parts:

  • Contextualized and problematized presentation of the host organization and its environment.
  • Description of the tasks / activities / projects carried out during the course.
  • A scientific and rigorous research approach whose research object will differ from that developed in the framework of the research seminar in professional immersion.
  • A self-assessment, that is to say an assessment of this professional experience in terms of the acquisition of technical skills as well as in terms of personal development.
Thirdly, this report will be presented orally to a jury composed of the pedagogical coordinator, the tutor and possibly an expert in the field of labor sciences. Prior to the presentation, all members of the jury shall receive a copy of the immersion report. At the end of this presentation, the jury deliberates and assigns a rating to the student.
The evaluation of the training supervisor, the professional immersion report and the oral presentation will be taken into account.
In the event of a negative evaluation, the student completes his professional immersion report, based on the comments made by the members of the jury.

Work placement(s)

The student must choose and find his place of internship.
However, before the begin of the academic year, some internships will be offered. Students can apply to these.

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course

The modalities of organization of the internship are included in a regulation available on the web site of the Faculty.
