Learning unit contents

The 'Law and Art' course is organised as a seminar designed to study how certain artistic works can offer a vision of the legal phenomenon (or an aspect of it) that is particularly intructive for the lawyer himself. Each year, students will analyse a particular art form, author or work.

For the year 2024-2025, the comic strip will be on the programme, based on the following work: J. Heymann (ed.), Tintin et le droit, Paris, LexisNexis, 2024. Students will of course be able to tackle a theme based on a comic strip other than Tintin.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Learn to look critically and creatively at the legal issues explored in arts.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

An interest in some or all of the arts is required.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The seminar is organised in the form of a group work in which the students are required to carry out research into the artistic discipline and the work or works chosen for the academic year concerned, and to present this research at a session open to the public.
