Editorial techniques and processes
The first part of the course focuses on the professional and institutional landscape of the book trade in FWB, on sources of information and places of continuing education, and on a description of the professions and/or functions that interact within a publishing house. It is then broken down into modules devoted to the key stages of a publishing project: manuscript evaluation; commissioning a project; enriching a collection with a strict editorial protocol; manuscript preparation; proofreading; designing a book presentation folder for distributors and representatives; finding and acquiring illustrations; commissioning a graphic charter; drawing up a contract; or responding to a call for tenders (public procurement).
