Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
Theoritical complements of chemical equilibria :
Theory of activity, pH and buffer solutions calculations (complements) pH measurements and description of the electrodes , complexes and complexometric titrations, qualitative characterization of the elements in the laboratory .
Introduction to the chromatographic methods of analysis : principles, classification of chromatographic techniques, and basic calculations (chromatographic parameters).
Qualitative analysis of organic molecules.
The course also integrates complementary elements of Mineral Chemistry via practical laboratory works.
Technical analytical notes showing protocols useful in agronomic science are also described.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course provides students with an understanding of the principles and basic techniques of chemical analysis (mineral products and organic molecules) and contributes to extend their experimental skill.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- demonstrate knowledges in acide-base titrations , buffer solutions...
- understand the theorical and practical aspects of pH measurement;
- master the complexation equilibra and their analytical applications;
- demonstrate basic knowledges and know-how for the characterisation of elements and organic molecules.
- understand the general principles of chromatography.
-develop a know how and knowledges in the characterization of mineral elements and organic molecules ( tests and chromatography)
After completing the course the student is expected to manage some important and basic analytical methods
-be able to make a clear and complete analytical report
