Learning unit contents

After an introduction to the traditional concepts of the language, this course presents different aspects of the classical chinese language : non-simplified characters, grammatical structures, logic. The analysis of philosophical texts and terms shall contribute to a better understanding of East-Asian thought.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Prerequisites:
- having successfully followed "Chinese language " I and II or having followed at least 120h of modern chinese language;
- having successfully followed "Japanese language " I and II or having followed at least 120h of modern japanese language;
- to possess an equivalent level of knowledge of the chinese or japanese language.
During the academic year 2021-2022, the persons interested but not fulfilling the required conditions, may under certain circumstances be allowed to attend the course. In this case please contact the lecturer at the beginning of the academic year.
