Learning unit contents
Declared as being in a state of "crisis", or even obsolete, by some during the 20th century, the anthropology of kinship - the first field of investigation in the history of the discipline - is currently the subject of renewed interest. More than ever, it appears to be necessary to grasp the dynamics of contemporary societies in both the North and the South. The examination of the main theories, the key concepts and vocabulary in the field, combined with the exploration of contemporary themes, will enable the cultural and social construction of the family to be understood. This theoretical approach will be coupled with an interactive presentation of methodological tools.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
