Learning unit contents
1. A teaching internship in real life situation (20 periods) equally divided among transition and qualifying education.
2. Extra-curricular activities : participating about activities such a class meeeting, a participating meeting, a parents' meeting, a pedagogical day, a mini-enterprise etc. which will take up minimum 10 hours. An analytical grid will be created in a seminar and a seminar period will be devoted to their exploitation.
3. Reflecting practices
- Analysis of the internship practices
- Individual student coaching following their performance in class, each receiving an evaluation along with individualized commentaries.
- Exploiting students' "specific practices"
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
In accordance with the HEC Liège skills reference framework:

promoting experiential learning through facing problem-situations
enhancing the theory-practice conjunction
taking into account student classes specifics
taking into account legal and administrative constraints regarding the organization of education in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation
students will be able to:
- plan teaching classes depending on legal reference documents,
- build learning modules based on problem-situations and integrate student-oriented management taking the latter's complexity into account,
- take account of student classes specifics,
- enhance learning though qualitative teacher-student interactions,
- engage in a critical approach.
School internships as such make up a very important activity within the teaching training programme as they directly contribute to its ultimate objective: preparing the prospective teaching for teaching.
They aim at:
- finding out about the practical reality of secondary education and particularly in economic and management sciences teaching.
- mastering disciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge justifying pedagogical action.
- enabling the prospective teacher to experiment, observe, analyse the various components of teaching, to integrate and act, during internships, in a given school context (school, classes, internship mentor, school community).
- learn how to manage a group of students' learning and interpersonal relationships within this group, in a classroom and in a school context.

Intership supervisions are carried out by the team in charge of supervising special didactics internships during the internship period. These supervisions are conducted on invitation.

Interships are to be carried out equally between general and qualifying teaching.
The score obtained for the course "Teaching internship (including observation, teaching and reflecting internships), Partim 1" in the 1st session is a definitive score as it is not possible to carry out internships in the 2nd session.
