Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The unit consists of an observation internship in an educational environment, either in the field of adult training or in the field of scholarship. The student will also be responsible for conducting readings related to his internship, as well as the writing of a reflective report.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of the discovery internship are to provide students with broader perspectives on the variety of training contexts that a Master's in Education can face, as well as the issues they raise.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Various kinds of learning activities are proposed :
- Making contact with educational professionals in order to define one or more internship(s). These can be professional venues, symposiums, theme days related to the field, etc. The location, places and contents of the internship depend on the student's training project, and therefore on the curriculum (Adult Education or Teaching) that the student will have chosen.
- Observations on the defined placement location(s).
- Writing a reflexive report, including a confrontation of representations and initial questions (the student will have written those representations before the start of observations) to the observations made. This report will conclude with the formulation of guidelines for the student's practice.
- Reading of various documents, including scientific articles, related to the student's internship.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
The teaching unit consists of an observation internship, as well as readings and the writing of a report by the student (in autonomy).
Recommended or required readings
The readings that will have to be done will be defined by the student according to his internship. About the course notes, the documents will be posted on the institutional platform.
The reflexive report written by the student will be evaluated by a professor from the department whose field of research concerns the content of the student's internship. The expected report structure is as follows :
- Presentation of the internship location, presentation of readings and selected courses
- Presentation of representations
- Critical summary of readings
- Comparative discussion of representations and readings
- Observation report
- Confrontation of student's observation with his representations and questions
- Conclusions related to the course and the training project
Work placement(s)
Organisational remarks and main changes to the course
The number of ECTS depends on the individual course of the student.
Waivers may be granted based on the student's previous experience as a trainer or student. It is necessary for the student, in this case, to contact the coordinator of the teaching unit.
