Learning unit contents
The objective of this course is to introduce participants to the research methodologies in psycho-oncology.
The concepts discussed in the course will cover the following topics:
- quantitative research, qualitative research and mixed methods research;
- evidence-based practice;
- search for information in psycho-oncology (for research work or clinical practice).
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of this training, the participant will be able:
- to explain the different research methodologies in psycho-oncology;
- to understand the value of evidence-based practice;
- to search - in the resources discussed during the course and in using the most effective search strategies - for evidence from the scientific research.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
This course is based on a face-to-face session. Active participation will be required. Exercises will be carried out during the session. Students will bring - if possible - a laptop or tablet.
