Learning unit contents
The remediation course consists of a review and re-explanation in a different format of the principles studied in the first quadrennium in the Building Technology 1 course.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify his weaknesses in the Building Technology 1 course: understanding of the principles studied, vocabulary, understanding of the questions asked and the underlying issues, ...
In fine, these are the learning outcomes of the Building Technology 1 course that are targeted:
- to perceive the multiplicity of the roles assumed by architecture.
- to understand the role of the technologies implemented to allow the architecture to answer these roles.
- to perceive the interactions between architecture, building technology and building physics.
- to interpret the functioning of the structure of a building according to the graphic documents presenting it.
- to begin to integrate structural thinking into the development of an architectural project.
read a technical detail and understand the role of the different materials used. - to begin to integrate a reflection on the composition of the walls during the development of an architectural project.
- to know the main technical networks supplying a building.
- to understand some of the impacts of the building sector on the environment and the tools used to evaluate these impacts.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The learning activity is divided into two parts:
First, students will need to review the content of the Building Technology 1 course to identify their weaknesses and in particular the principles studied that they do not understand. They can also use the feedback from the Building Technology 1 exam provided by SMART to help them do this.
The work sessions themselves will build on this self-critical work to provide clarification. By interacting directly with the supervisors, students have the opportunity to get a more personalized explanation.
It's important to note that re-explanation will only be productive if preceded by self-criticism. Just coming to the session without a question will greatly diminish the interest of these sessions.
