Learning unit contents
Health simulation, through the use of different tools to reproduce in a more or less realistic way clinical situations, allows an important improvement in the training of health professionals in the field of initial, specialized and keep on going. This type of training contributes to the necessary efforts to improve the quality and safety of care, through the use of new digital technologies and simulation. Simulation allows active participation and strong adherence of learners in the learning process. It also makes it possible to fill, facilitate and homogenize the training of health professionals.
The basic principles of health simulation will be addressed via classroom courses and via an online course (MOOC) from ULiège : « La simulation Médicale, à vous de jouer ! ».
- Theoretical aspects and exercises: simulation history, risk management and human factors, learning theory and simulation, the different types of simulations, build a session, build a scenario, ...
- Interest in simulation in various disciplines: emergency, pediatric, nursing, ...
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- understand and explain the contribution of simulation to health professionals, as well as for the management of the safety of care
- describe the different types of health simulation existing and choose the type of simulation appropriate to a learning objective
