Learning unit contents
This course provides the basics to better understand informatics and tackle problems from the medical informatics world.
The 5 courses will cover the following topics:
- introduction: history of computing, various OS & programming languages, networking;
- data: representation formats, DICOM, database & PACS, transfer, security;
- algorithmic: principle of thinking, pseudo-code, functions and sub-functions, complexity;
- data processing: quality, contrast, noise, basic operations, filters, segmentation, registration;
- AI and machine learning: principles, algorithms, deep learning, validation.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The goal is that medical students who have attened this course can better understand and grasp the fundamental concepts linked to computer science, medical or not. This will allow them to better communicate and interact with professionals in the IT field.
