Chapter II. Proximity effect
Chapter III. Josephson junctions and weak links
Chapter IV. SQUID
Chapter V. BCS
Chapter VI. Tunneling
Chapter VII. Andreev reflection, charge imbalance, Phase slips
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
By the end of the course, the students will be able to understand some of the surprising consequence of this macroscopic quantum condensate and its interaction with the environment.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
It is convenient to have basic knowledge of solid state physics including an introduction to superconductivity.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Each of the chapters will be developed on the blackboard.
