Learning unit contents
This course is dedicated to physical activity and is focused on underlining its roles as well as that of physical educators in the promotion of an active lifestyle. Several chapters are proposed:
- Effects of physical activity.
- Recommendation for physical activity.
- Measure of physical activity.
- Physical activity in the world.
- Determit of participation, theories of motivation.
- Drop out, zapping and barreers.
- Accessibility to physical activity.
- Promotion of physical activity.
- Sport policy.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Physical activity is one of the elements related to a healthy lifestyle. It is thus important that Sport sciences graduates perceive the fundamental role that they should play against the sedentarity.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Content of previous specific courses is a good prerequisite.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Some practical sessions are oganised. They are focused on the building of links between theory and potential practical implications. According to the circumstances, the students can be involved in activities on the field that will provide them practical experiences.

Additional information:
The planning of the lectures/workshop is provided during the first session. Seveal learning situations are proposed (group of discussion, references, scenarios ...).
In green or yellow code, the courses are given face-to-face.
In orange or red code, the courses are given remotely (Ecampus Collaborate OR Unicast platform) with the provision of a podcast after each course.
Recommended or required readings
A pdf version of the slides and documents proposed during the theoretical lessons is posted on the Website myULiège. In addition, the students will have to seek other information, according to recommendations' of the course's leader.
A written exam is organized in January and is based on open ended questions concerning all chapters. Moreover, works done during the semester are assessed and contribute to the final mark.
