Learning unit contents

This seminar is intended as a space for exchanges with practitioners specializing in French as a second language / education.
It is articulated in the theoretical course of "Didactics of French as a second language in a migratory context" and addresses specific didactic questions raised on a daily basis by the teaching of French as a second language and schooling, in particular:

  • teaching reading to FSL learners and illiterate newcomer pupils;
  • lexical enrichment;
  • writing workshops;
  • the development of educational kits;
  • plurilingual approaches;
  • linguistic interference;
  • the competency frameworks for FLS / FLSco;
  • theater and slam in the classroom.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course aims to ...

  • test theoretical knowledge by confronting it with more empirical thinking,
  • deepen specific didactic questions,
  • develop a reflexive and critical posture.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

This course is given in the form of a seminar in which the students are expected to participate actively. Practical exercises and case studies are frequently used, and outside specialists are often invited to speak.
