Detailed analysis of the poetry of Hans Faverey, one of the most important poets of postwar Dutch literature.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Improving the skills of students at analysing modern literary texts in Dutch

Developing the students' reflective capacities

Refining their command of Dutch

Familiarizing the students with the historic and cultural context of the Netherlands

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Good command of spoken and written Dutch.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Introduction to Faverey's life and work within the context of his time

Analysis of poems drawn from different stages in Faverey's development

Establishing the relationships between his work and its historical and cultural context

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Lectures, followed by individual presentations and collective discussions of selected poems.
