Learning unit contents
The course focuses on oral skills and is made up of 3 different parts:
1/ A Full-English course
2/ Interaction
3/ Presentation skills & Academic English
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will reach the Level B2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in speaking within his or her field of specialty.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The student has to have a B2+ level in prepared speaking (cf. CEFR) before starting the course.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
A full-English course
Exercises on scientific and academic vocabulary as well as on presentation skills (1h/wk druing the first semester)
Interaction (weekly speaking, 1h/wk during the second semester)
Evaluation (vocabulary tests) throughout the year
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

The final grade will be calculated as follows:
1. Continuous assessment: 20%
2. January exam: 15%
3. June exam: 45%
4. FE course: 20%
For students that do not follow the FE course, the grade will be as follows:
1. Continuous assessment: 20%
2. January exam: 25%
3. June exam: 55%
A student who is absent for one hybrid course and/or the exam will automatically be considered ABSENT (A) in June for his or her English course.
Students signing the interaction part of the exam will be given a final grade of 0/20 for the entire course.
The students who sign the hybrid course will be given 0/20 for that hybrid course
Exemptions, even partial, will not be granted.

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course
A student who leaves for one term/semester/year has to contact the Engilsh teachers before leaving.
A precise description of the course organization and contents as well as the evaluation criteria (Introductory Document + English Course Description) has been made available for the students on eCampus.
All tasks are compulsory. Failure to send homework on time will result in penalty points in the continuous assessment.
Students who fail to take online tests without any valid justification within the week following the deadline will get a 0.
