Learning unit contents
The main objective of the course of immunopathology is to initiate the student to the different modes of abnormal functioning of the immune system and their involvement in the occurrence of diseases.
The chapters of the course are as follows
- General introduction to the diseases involving the immune system
- Primary immunodeficiencies
- Acquired immunodeficiencies
- Hypersensitivites
- General principles of autoimmunity and exemples of organ-specific vs. systemic autoimmune diseases
- Autoinflammatory syndromes
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course is mostly an introduction focused on the basis and principles of the states of immunodeficiency, hypersensitivity, autoinflammation and autoimmunity. Students in biomedical sciences must particularly deal with in depth the translational links between molecular pathways and diseases as well as the biological analytical tools used for the diagnosis and follow-up of diseases.

Recommended or required readings
I recommend as a reference book : "Janeway's Immunobiology" 2016 9th edition (ISBN-10:0815345054). This is not mandatory since the content of the slides kit is exhaustive regarding to the learning objectives.
