Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The lecture of geological mapping provides an introduction to the history of geological mapping in Belgium as well as an overview of basics in geological mapping.
Numerous exercises of mapping and drawing of geological profiles are carried out to improve the understanding of the spatial relationship between geological layers.
The fieldwork will focus on the making of a geological profile across formations and structures in the Condroz, on detailed layer mapping as well as on structural geology.
