Learning unit contents
The student will be introduced to different topics within the realm of financial analysis. In addition thereto, the student will be required to read and exploit academic literature surrounding these topics.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The student will have a better, and more in-depth understanding of the motivations on the process of financial analysis. Which include, but are not limited to, (i) understanding the incentives behind accounting choices and potential market distorstions (ii) analyzing the discretionary content of accounting reports, (iii) understand the importance and difficulties in audit, etc. Moreover, the course will introduce and help familiarize students with the academic literature on these topics.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The student should have a basic knowledge of accounting and financial analysis.
