Learning unit contents
The course will aim to present the peculiarities and planning rules of individual sports such as athletics, swimming and combat sports.
The objective will be to determine the physiological and constitutional characteristics related to each of these sports, but also to evoke the course of the competitions as well as the repercussions for the training. These basic elements are essential to be able to build reasoned planning in one of the given disciplines.
Students will need to be able to carry out basic planning in one of the detailed disciplines.
At the start of the year, students will choose an individual sporting context and will carry out group planning work.
Practical sessions will develop in the field some training components essential for the physical preparation of most sports such as cladding, proprioception, or intermittent training.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The first objective of this course is to discover the characteristics of the major categories of individual sports disciplines, but also to be able to identify these characteristics through relevant literature research.
Attention will be paid to:
- The population involved.
- The characteristics of the sport discipline.
- The organization and characteristics of competitions and calendars.
-Doping
The second objective of this course is to develop in students a systematic and rigorous approach essential to the realization of a sports planning in an individual sport.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Upstream: Basics of athletic training (3 BSM) and Déterminants of athletic performance (2 BSM).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The presentation of different sports and doping will be so traditional in class teaching.
The reflexive approach will be driven by the realized working group on a sport of their choice.
Formative evaluation will be conducted during the presentation of the work or the teacher will assess firstly the content, and give the other expert advice to improve the reflexive approach to be established to know a sport.
Some workshops will be set up to discover sspécifique practice of physical préparartyion used in many sports.

Additional information:
Theoretical evaluation will count for 55% of the points. The practical grade will count for 40% and will take into account: 1) attendance at practical classes (5%) 2) the report and group presentation on the sport discipline (35%).
The theoretical part may include planning exercises that can be done in an open book.
A mark of less than 9/20 in either part will result in a final mark of less than or equal to 9/20.
