Learning unit contents
Objective
The objective of this course is to introduce students to tools required to conduct research in economics.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- find and synthesize the relevant scientific literature relate to a particular topic
- understand and critically appraise both theoretical and empirical scientific papers
- formulate a research question, carry out research and communicate findings effectively
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
This course is only open to students who have followed and successfully passed all the compulsory courses of the first year of the Master in Economics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
At the start of the course, based on the student's thesis topic, the different workshops, readings and seminars for the course will be established.

The evaluation will be based on the attendance at seminars in economics (20%), readings (30%) as well as the research paper written and presented by the student (50%).
