Learning unit contents
The "Law and New Technologies" course is a "variable geometry" course: its content is bound to evolve over time according to the technological and legal interests of the moment.
The objective of this course is to give HEC students
- general legal information on important issues in the life of the enterprise: management of personal data, management of the company's creations (intellectual property, copyrights, etc.), issues raised by the use of new technologies;
- to offer an analytical and critical vision of certain legal issues - related to new technologies -;
- to provide an interest in the legal aspects related to innovation in the enterprise.
The organization of the course is likely to vary according to the themes and the speakers selected. However, the overall structure of the course is based on 3 or 4 modules, each dealing with a particular theme.
For the academic year 2022-2023, the following themes should be covered
- How to protect my invention?
- The company and the RGPD: how can or should the company collect data, manage it? what are the rights of the people whose data is collected?
- Globalization, digitalization, tax engineering: 1) digital giants and taxation: how to do it: issues and techniques; 2) information exchange, management of these exchanges: what are the issues?
- Artificial intelligence and law: the enterprise evolves in its organization but also in the products it offers: thinking about the legal aspects of the use of new technologies is necessary and can be an asset].
