Learning unit contents

Continental hydrosystems represent only a small quantity of the volume of water present on earth, but they have the particularity of offering a great diversity of habitats associated with very significant biodiversity. The course aims to 1) describe the functions and ecological organization of lentic and lotic contained hydrosystems 2) to present the impacts of their uses for different human activities (energy production, navigation, irrigation, tourism, ... 3) to propose solutions to conciliate the uses and services provided by inland hydrosystem and the protection and integrated management of aquatic resources.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The learning basic knowledges of the ecology of inland water fish in order to apprehend the thoughtful management of their populations in a context of numerous and varied anthropic pressures.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Parallel follow-up of the course "BIOL218-1 Ecological monitoring and management models of fishery resources" is necessary

Basic knowledge in biology, knowledge of the French language
