Contenus de l'unité d'enseignement
How to change behaviors? Traditional methods rest on the idea that behavioral changes are driven by giving people information, punishing them for their bad behaviors, and rewarding them for their good behaviors. Still other ways to influence people do exist. From a social psychology viewpoint, Social Identity Theory provides a strong framework to understand when, how and why people do adapt and change their behaviors. This theory will be applied to the climate change and more generally to environmental crisis. We will study issues such as: What's the role of leadership? How to deal with conspiracy theories? How do people perceived risk? What's the influence of social norms interventions? What's the effect of political ideology? Is collective efficacy important? How to promote environmental activism? What's collective action?

Students will provide a project presented to all during the session. The evaluation of the project will be made by a representative of the Green Office of the University, my collaborator Tania Noël as well as myself. Students will be given the opportunity to nominate the best 3 projects.
The evaluation of the project is based on the students' ability to provide a short communication (short leaflet, short video, ...), on the basis of scientific theories, aiming at making young people (15 to 18 year old) to take actions in order to mitigate the effects of environmental crisis.
