Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The integrated project of mechanical engineering aims at developing the students' ability to carry out a design project from idea and conceptual design to prototyping and pre manufacturing steps.
This course at extending the education of mechanical engineering students in providing elements of technology and giving them the tools and methodology to fetch the missing knowledges when necessary.
The students will have to solve a open design problem in a group of two students.
The project will be basd on:
- Theroretical lectures by university members
- Seminars given by field experts generally from industry
- Practical training such as lab session and visits of plants
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- Master background technologies in mechanical engineering.
- Management of a design project in mechanical engineering from design to prototyping and preparation of manufacturing phase. Besides technical developments, this includes the management of the organization, planning and budget.
- Define the specification for a mechanical project.
- Design a mechanical component or system.
- Apply theoretical concepts (for instance in physics, material science, heat transfer, thermodynamics, CAD, modelling methods) to the study of a mechnical system.
- Present in a clear and synthetic manner complex enginering problems and their solution in front of people of the field.
- Prepare a technical file related to a design problem.
- Search for scientific and technical information and exploit it.
- Work in a team.
